Mountain tops bring us closer to the energy of the universe so the Yogandspice yoga and climbing retreats make perfect sense. Like yoga, climbing is non-competitive yet leads to an increase awareness of both mind and body.
These two night yoga and climbing breaks are for the more active and physically fit. No climbing experience is needed. It is an ideal opportunity for indoor climbers to try traditional climbing in some of the most beautiful scenery the North Yorks Moors has to offer. Or for yogis and yoga teachers to experience a very special retreat.
Single pitch crags
The nature of the rocks are sandstone single pitch crags. Single pitch climbs are where you start from the ground, make one ascent and are then lowered back down Interest climbers can learn rigging for single pitch climbing and Mark introduces to the techniques of lead climbing. We can also offer instruction in abseiling.
On the Yoga & Spice yoga and climbing breaks, the morning yoga is an energising vinyasa flow. Weather permitting we may do a lunchtime practice or meditation at the crag too. Or back to Valley View for a gentle stretch and relaxation followed by a nourishing vegetarian/vegan meal.
Challenged not over-awed….
Two days climbing is intensive for beginners. However, Mark is a qualified Mountain Leader who has led groups of all ages in the most extreme of conditions. For this week-end he will chose both crags and routes according to the weather conditions and standard of the group ensuring that everyone feels challenged but not over-awed! NOTE: From Valley View it is a 45 minute drive to most crags and we provide transport. The scenery en route is magnificent.
If you are interested in a yoga and climbing weekend please get in contact. These weekends work particularly well for a group of friends booking together (minimum 3, maximum 6).
The yoga and climbing package would usually include 2/3 nights accommodation, three yoga sessions, two days climbing, a Yoga Nidra/relaxation, supper on Friday and Saturday, breakfast and packed lunches on Saturday and Sunday and afternoon tea on Sunday. But we can also tailor a week-end for a group booking.
